With two large halls, a smaller room, an informal café area/foyer and use of a well-equipped kitchen, the Community Centre is an ideal venue for social gatherings such as wedding receptions, children’s parties and other celebratory occasions.

Our private meeting room also makes us an excellent location for off-site meetings, coaching and training sessions. Centrally located between Coalville, Ibstock and Markfield in the heart of the National Forest, we also serve the surrounding villages of Barlestone, Ellistown, Merry Lees, Nailstone, Thornton and Stanton-under-Bardon. We are 10 minutes from Junction 22 of the M1.

So, whether you are interested in using the whole Centre to run an event for your organisation or need a small room to meet with a few friends to pursue a hobby – look no further. For one-off or regular bookings, we can help!

The Rear Hall

The rear hall is available from 3.30pm on weekdays and also during the evening and weekends during term-time. During school holidays it is available at any time. The rear hall is large enough to accommodate events and activities for up to 72 people. It’s a very popular choice for children’s birthday parties as it has a built-in sink and small preparation counter at the end of the room, plus a separate toilet area so no-one needs to leave the room, keeping everyone safe. A practical floor surface helps clearing up afterwards too! There is also ample ceiling height to enable most bouncy castles to be inflated.

It is ideal for sports and fitness groups wanting a regular venue for training or as an overflow room if hiring the whole venue for overnight events or stays. Although tables and chairs are not usually in the room they are available if needed.

Cost
The rear hall costs £10.00 per hour for local residents and non-profit groups (to reflect the contribution already made through the Parish Council’s precept) and £15.00 per hour for other users.
